Ysgol Bro Ingli is a community school, which caters for part time nursery children, and infant and junior boys and girls. It also houses the part time voluntary nursery unit run under the auspices of Mudiad Ysgolion Meithrin. Our catchment area covers the town of Newport, the villages of Nevern, Felindre Farchog, Dinas and the surrounding districts.

Pupils are enrolled on a part time basis the term after their third birthday, provided there are spaces available. They may attend up to five half days a week.

Pupils are enrolled full-time the term after their fourth birthday, provided there are spaces available. In September following their seventh birthday children are transferred to the junior department. Children leave this school in the September following their eleventh birthday, usually to attend Ysgol Bro Gwaun, Fishguard or to Ysgol Ddwyieithog y Preseli, Crymych.

The present building was officially opened in February 1993. It is of a semi-open plan design with a nursery and infant department on one side, a junior department and hall on the other and a resource area centrally situated and convenient to all pupils. The school hall is used for some lessons, for morning service and for the mid-day meal. Mudiad Meithrin use the hall three mornings a week. There is a spacious playground and an adjacent playing field and Multi Use Games Area.

The admission number planned for this school is 120. Classes are organised according to age.

Times of opening and closure

School commences at 9 a.m. Morning assembly is held at least four times a week. All pupils will be part of this service unless parents wish them to be exempt.

Pupils are supervised for 15 minutes before commencement of school and for 15 minutes at the end of the school day. Pupils should not arrive at school before 8.45 a.m. and should have left by 3.45p.m.

Morning Session: 9.00 a.m. – 12.00 Afternoon Session: 1.00 – 3.30 p.m.

We pride ourselves on having punctual pupils who generally arrive by 8.50 a.m. We are also proud of our attendance record.
